Los Angeles, Ca (PRWEB) February 21, 2013
Many words have been used to describe Hollywood. Glamorous. Creative. Glitzy even. One word that rarely comes to mind, however, is soulful.
Hollywood Journal, a new online magazine, is setting out to change that.
Billing itself as the ‘soul of the biz’, Hollywood Journal shines a light on the true soul of the industry by exploring the deeper side of Hollywood through the words, photos and videos of active writers, directors, actors, producers, executives, make-up artists, set designers, and musicians.
While many websites cover the wheelings and dealings of the film, TV and music business, Hollywood Journal will explore the relationships, the struggles, the triumphs, journeys and insights of the people who make up ‘the biz’, touching on news, controversy, humor, and spirituality.
The site’s editorial director, Jill Cutler, previously of Creative Artists Agency (CAA) and Winkler Films, has enlisted more than 50 contributors covering the entire spectrum of entertainment, high-ranking executives, production assistants and everyone in between, to share more meaningful takes on the industry.
“Hollywood Journal is about the power of entertainment to inspire us, to change our lives, to shape our world,” said Cutler. “It’s an intimate, insider’s point of view of the entertainment industry. We have touching, thought provoking and engaging essays from of the people who create the stories we love.”
“Our tagline is intended to tell the reader that this is a different kind of publication,” Cutler said. “Other websites can give you the headlines, the ratings, the gossip. Only Hollywood Journal offers the ‘soul of the biz’.”
Hollywood Journal is produced by Tribe Media Corp., a Los Angeles-based media company that also produces Tribe magazine, Jewish Journal, and other media products.
