Troy, Mich. (PRWEB) February 25, 2013
Champion Commercial Structures, a division of Champion Home Builders, a leading commercial modular supplier in North America, today announced that it has completed production of a workforce accommodation project for the Hebron oil field in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. The project provided over 400 living quarters, recreation facilities and office space for oil field workers building a state-of-the-art offshore gravity based structure (GBS) drilling platform, which is scheduled to be placed in the Jeanne d'Arc Basin of the North Atlantic Ocean.
In securing the project, Champion Commercial Structures teamed with international oil services company, Malthus, to provide Exxon Mobil Corporation and its partners a turnkey housing solution for its relocated workers.
“Any time we complete a project of this magnitude, it is exciting. What makes the Hebron project even more special is that it demonstrates how our extensive investment in commercial construction capacity allows us to use our 30 manufacturing facilities spread across Canada, the US and the UK to help serve customers, like Malthus, who have needs that span around the globe,” said Jack Lawless, CEO, Champion Home Builders. “We used our UK division to supply Malthus with a project last year in Scotland’s Shetland Islands, we used our New York facility to supply the Hebron oil field, and we can use a host of our western plants to meet Malthus’ needs in the oil sands and other target markets in western Canada and elsewhere.”
In addition to the Hebron camp, Champion Commercial Structures has recently completed projects for energy industry providers including Halliburton in North Dakota, and Target Logistics in Texas, building everything from temporary office space to high-end, four story permanent apartments. With these projects now complete, Champion continues to build its reputation as a go-to workforce housing provider with the unique ability to service clients around the world.
