HAVERING College of Further and Higher Education (http://www.havering-college.ac.uk) is joining the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy network to empower a new generation of entrepreneurs.

The college in Hornchurch, Essex, is delighted to announce it will be working with the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy, founded by Dragons’ Den star Peter Jones CBE, to offer new and exciting qualifications to young people with business ambitions.

The new Peter Jones approved facility will operate from the Brentwood Innovation Centre - Havering College’s base in Brentwood High Street, Essex.

Young people aged 16-19 will be able to study a BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Understanding Enterprise and Entrepreneurship - the equivalent of four GCSEs – or a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Enterprise and Entrepreneurship, which equates to two A-levels.

These pioneering qualifications will focus entirely on developing and furthering the aspirations of young entrepreneurs. Students will benefit from:

● learning from tutors with real business experience

● masterclasses led by entrepreneurs and business leaders

            ● opportunities to work on regional and national business challenges

Apprenticeships in Innovation and Growth at Level 3 and Level 5 (equivalent to a Foundation Degree) are another option open to employers seeking to nurture the young entrepreneurial talent that will help their businesses to grow.

Alice Barnard, Chief Executive of the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy, said: “We are delighted that Havering College of Further and Higher Education is joining the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy and we look forward to working with them to inspire more young people to turn their dreams into reality.

“Young people play a major role in the future success of the economy and our Academies offer students support, advice and networks to embark upon an entrepreneurial journey that is successful for them and will invigorate the wider economy.”
