Managing director, Simon Cross, of Crystal Ski said “The snow-sure resorts, the varied terrain and excellent family facilities in Norwegian resorts have always been popular with British skiers, but no one has facilitated what customers also want: making ski holidays to Norway more affordable. Norway isn’t known as a cheap destination, but we’ve managed to use our buying power to get some great value half board options plus incredibly inexpensive self catering cabins and apartments.”
Located within the Jotunheimen National Park, Beitostølen is well planned and provides and efficient lift network. Customers can expect high quality English speaking ski instructors and confidence building slopes suitable for families, beginners and low intermediates. Children have a variety of activities to keep themselves entertained from the Ski Fun Land, with their own ski slope which is located next to the Ola-express lift, to the special sledge lift, mini-snowmobiles, husky sledding and floodlit night skiing. The price for a family of six at the Hovi Cabins for seven nights costs from £1669 including flights and transfers.
Customers can visit the traditional village of Geilo located in the heart of Norway’s ski region with ski areas on both sides of the valley. The resort offers 40 pistes which are better suited for beginner and intermediate skiers, five terrain parks and over 220km of cross country tracks. Crystal Ski provides several types of accommodation within this resort accommodating a variety of customer and their requirements. A learn to ski package is available which includes equipment hire, lift pass and tuition for £199 giving their customers a saving of £163.
Renowned as being one of the biggest ski areas in Norway, Hemsedal has an excellent snow record and customers can experience a huge diversity of terrain parks with two half pipes and, if necessary, the area has 50% snow making. Following the reputation of Norway offering family friendly resorts, children can experience good nursery slopes providing a mix of terrain and a ski school.
Trevor De Villiers, international sales & marketing director, Norway – Home of Skiing commented: “Following an absence of almost five years, we’re delighted to welcome Crystal Ski back to our ski resorts. Flying direct from London Gatwick to Fagernes Airport, Crystal will offer the customers what must be some of the shortest ski transfers in Europe – only 45 minutes to Beitostølen! We have enjoyed charter services for almost 20 years from the UK, and I know that our loyal customers will welcome the return of the UK’s No1 ski operator to Norway.
We are very excited to have the British skiers in our resorts, as they really go out and enjoy the full benefits of our unique winter wonderland resorts, from skiing and spa indulgence to husky safaris in our spectacular and unspoilt nature,” he continued.
