There are things that are within our power to change and things that aren’t. Being healthier is something we can all choose.
Fort Washington, PA (PRWEB) February 25, 2013
Margo McGirr’s younger daughter, Isabel, was born in 2005 with serious health issues. Although Isabel’s medical problems were significant, McGirr and her husband never thought they would lose their precious daughter. But in 2009 they did.
In the aftermath of this crushing blow, McGirr’s world came crashing down. McGirr was struggling with incredible sadness and with the physical burden of an extra 60 pounds, gained while pregnant and during the challenging years of rearing a sick child. It is not uncommon for people to gain weight after emotionally traumatic events. Having tried Nutrisystem before, McGirr turned to it again to regain control and lost 63 pounds* on the program. Now the Staunton, Virginia resident is actively sharing her story to help others reclaim their lives.
When asked what motivated her to get in shape the 46-year old says, “I’m going to be sad every day for the rest of my life, but I don’t have to be sad that I can’t zip my pants. There are things that are within our power to change and things that aren’t. Being healthier is something we can all choose. “
McGirr is also gratified that she’s setting a positive example for her older child, Grace. Nutrisystem, McGirr says, gave her “hope that things can get better; faith that we can make positive change in our lives.”
On Tuesday, February 26, McGirr will join fellow Nutrisystem success story, Marie Osmond, on her new Hallmark Channel talk show to share her story in hopes of inspiring others to make the change to get healthy in 2013. McGirr will be the fourth Nutrisystem success story featured on the show’s “New Year, New You!” segment for the month of February.
