"We have brought together the best talent and resources to create the nation's first risk management initiative geared in helping agents reduce claims, as well as provide them with a practical guide to their agency operations.” said Angelo Gioia,

Agents of America announces that its eBook “A Comprehensive Guide to Avoiding E&O Claims”    (Book One) is now available on both Amazon and Barnes & Noble.

In addition, AOA has made available for download Chapter 1, “[Insurance Producer Licensing,” written by Daniel B. Meyer, attorney at O’Hagan LLC. The first chapter begins as an insurance producer’s profession begins: licensure. The authors compiled the licensing schemes from all fifty states and the District of Columbia and pulled from that compilation the common threads – the licensing requirements that are consistent across all jurisdictions of this country. They then highlight where the various jurisdictions differ, and how. The topics addressed range from age and education, pre-licensure coursework and testing, fees, and maintenance, suspension, revocation and non-renewal of producer licenses. The chapter concludes with a discussion of agency licensure, and finally with an overview of the Producer Licensing Model Act.

“I’ve been defending insurance producers for years now, and in just my initial read of parts of this book I’ve gained invaluable new insights that will undoubtedly benefit both the litigants I represent and my own practice,” says Daniel Meyer. “This book needs to be on the shelf of every lawyer who litigates producer malpractice cases. The book is timely and vital to the insurance industry.”

Written by experts for today’s insurance professional, "A Comprehensive Guide to Avoiding E&O Claims” addresses issues that insurance agents and brokers encounter every day. This eBook represents a collaborative effort by many of the country's top E&O insurance attorneys and experts. It contains 20 distinct chapters packed with practical cutting-edge risk management information.

AOA’s Editorial Board for the eBook includes Minneapolis E&O defense attorney Britton Weimer of Jones Satre & Weimer PLLC; Professor Andrew Whitman of the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management; E&O insurance expert Curtis Pearsall of Pearsall Associates Inc.; Roy Little, President, CEO at Insurance Educational Association; and E&O defense attorney Matthew S. Marrone of Goldberg Segalla LLP.

“This book is a milestone collaborative effort from industry experts and lawyers, working together to address the cutting-edge issues in risk management, loss prevention and litigation relating to claims against insurance agents and brokers” says Britton Weimer. “This is a practical guide and resource that should be on the bookshelf of every insurance agent, broker and underwriter, and every attorney that litigates claims involving insurance professionals. It offers the reader both legal structure and risk management guidance.”

“The insurance landscape, marketplace, and regulations are constantly changing,” says Weimer. “When a disaster strikes and insureds have inadequate coverage, E&O claims are not far behind. There is no shortage of new, insurance-related issues. This book provides a resource through which customers are able to address and take action on such constantly-changing issues, expertly guided by the experienced authors.” The complete table of contents, along with author bios, may be found at "Meet the Authors.”

“Book One is truly a remarkable achievement and accomplishment for AOA,” says Angelo J. Gioia, founder of AOA. "We have brought together the best talent and resources to create the nation's first risk management initiative geared in helping agents reduce claims, as well as provide them with a practical guide to their agency operations.” In addition, Book One has created the foundation for AOA to develop a Book Two & Book Three for 2013. “AOA is actively partnering with insurance companies and insurance associations and organizations, which can use this valuable resource with their insured’s or members and to assist in decreasing the number and severity of E&O claims,” says Gioia.
