Today, all project managers enter project information in a consistent manner and can access information the same way with a few mouse clicks.

e-Builder, the pioneer in fully integrated, cloud-based construction program management software, announced today that Sinclair Community College, Dayton OH, has launched e-Builder Enterprise as its central platform for project information management and reporting of program financials. Sinclair Community College is taking a more proactive approach to how it manages project information documentation. The Planning and Construction Office has replaced Excel and will leverage e-Builder Enterprise’s integrated Document Management, Cost Management and Reporting capabilities.

Robert Woodruff, Director of Facilities, commented, “Previously, all capital project data was maintained in spreadsheets. We could’t aggregate that into an overall report that would give us visibility into how our projects were performing.” Woodruff wanted to ensure project managers had efficient and timely access to project information to avoid wasting time locating and compiling the data.

In addition, Woodruff recognized that more improvements could be achieved by standardizing the way in which all project managers input project data. “Before e-Builder Enterprise, each project manager took their own notes their own way, and this process provided a lot of opportunity for misinterpretation.” Today, all project managers enter project information in a consistent manner and can access information the same way with a few mouse clicks.

Sinclair Community College’s Planning and Construction office can now get real-time status reports that provide accurate and up-to-date information on the current budget, changes to the budget and remaining funds. Reports provide the College's CFO, President and Board of Trustees visibility into architect and engineer fees, and how those fees have been allocated. “We can also show different departments at the college how much money has been spent in their respective areas. This allows us to ensure we’re investing in the right departments and not over committing,” added Woodruff.
