Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) February 25, 2013
On February 25, Yumi Media, the food website devoted to news, recipes, and products for a healthy lifestyle, congratulates The Owl House, a vegetarian restaurant in Rochester, New York, for their years of success.
According to an article in Democrat and Chronicle, “When the Owl House opened in 2010, about half of the menu catered to people with special diets. The article reports that during the restaurant’s first year about 8,000 lentil burgers were sold. Today, owner Jeff Ching estimated, about a third of the customers are “vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free.”
“The items that take the longest to make are generally the ones that people like the most,” said Owner Jeff Ching.
Ching said to Democrat and Chronicle that the restaurant plans to introduce a new menu this spring. The most significant change will be the addition of a more permanent dinner menu.
“It is good to see restaurants that are committed to healthy eating having tremendous success,” comments Yumi Media representative Justin Maas. “Healthy living is not a fad but a philosophy. Most restaurants that claim to have a grasp on healthy living, but skimp on the important aspects that make a vegan or vegetarian meal healthy, defeating the purpose entirely. Many vegetarians, especially those with busy schedules, rely heavily on ready to eat meals like Quorn because of the few options available when dining out.”
Maas adds that, in addition to meat substitutes like Quorn, lentil burgers are his favorite dish and can’t wait to get his hands on The Owl House’s main course. “We here at Yumi Media wish Ching and The Owl House good luck and many more years of success.”
