The affair and media department of Tariq Drabu, leading Manchester dentist and specialist oral surgery provider has today marked the six month milestone of the launch of its two redesigned and relaunched websites - http://www.tariqdrabu.co.uk and http://www.langleydentalpractice.com.

Speaking about the milestone Tariq Drabu who is a dentist based in Middleton North Manchester said “In July and August last year I decided that it was time to look at different and more relevant ways of marketing Langley Dental Practice. As a dentist many practitioners have stuck with traditional routes such as Yellow Pages or simple newspaper advertising. However I realised that as a dentist we need to look further and wider to market ourselves. With so many changes in marketing and advertising happening almost on a daily basis it was important that we at the Langley Dental Group stayed focused and relevant with our message about both the practice and Tariq Drabu as a dentist to our client base. The key themes that we looked at were focusing on were the design of a website to highlight Tariq Drabu as a dentist and specialist in oral surgery and also the Langley Dental Group at Langley Dental Practice and the services that we offer."

The Tariq Drabu affair and media department was set up last year and is led by a small dedicated team consisting of dentist Tariq Drabu himself, Matthew Hodkinson the clinical director of the Langley Dental Group and Kristy Miller the senior receptionist. Key performance indicators of the affair and media department were increasing revenue streams and an increase in the number of new patients being referred to the practice and also a widening of the referral base for specialist dental services. The affair and media department was looking at not only covering issues around the Langley Dental Group Limited but also the wider promotion of Tariq Drabu's specialist services to patients.

Commenting further Tariq Drabu said “The first thing that the Tariq Drabu affair and media department took up was a substantial increase in our Internet presence and online activity. The first website was a personal website which focused on my experience in oral surgery and general dentistry and gives a full detailed profile of myself. The second major focus of the Tariq Drabu affair and media department was the redesign of the main Langley Dental Practice website. We know that there are so many changes in the marketing and advertising world. It is therefore important that the Tariq Drabu affair and media department focused very strongly on its internet profile as its first port of call. There is a huge untapped market of millions of people within the Greater Manchester area who are accessing the Internet either from a conventional computer or more likely from a smart phone or mobile device. Therefore the Tariq Drabu affair and media department made sure that any redesign of its websites were focused very strongly and delivering a simple clear message to the smart phone and mobile user. We focused on the smart phone and mobile user when redesigning our websites in order to make any downloading or viewing of pages as quick and as seamless as possible.”

In terms of raw numbers we have seen an increase in new patients by almost 20% year on year compared with the same 6 month period for 2011/12. Many patients when asked in surveys have stated that they have joined the practice after finding us on the internet. Our websites give detailed information on the types of treatments that are available such as tooth whitening, crowns, treatment under sedation and minor oral surgery. Six months down the line we are looking at increased revenue in terms of new patient numbers up by 20%. Turnover has increased in a like-for-like period by around 15% to 18%.
