JoAnn M. Laing, Chairman & Chief Marketing Officer of Information Strategies, Inc., has been chosen as a Harvard Business School Alumnae Leader and named one of New Jersey’s 2013 Best 50 Women in Business.
As part of Harvard’s 50th anniversary of women being admitted to the two-year MBA program, the school chose a select list of Harvard Business School Alumnae Leaders who have made significant contributions to the business sector and their communities.
Laing was chosen for her career-long innovations to the Small Business, Consumer Directed Healthcare, and Robotics Education sectors. Other notable honorees include HP’s Meg Whitman, Facebook’s Sheryl Sandberg, Goldman Sachs’ Jeanette Loeb, and Colgate-Palmolive’s Lois Juliber.
As an internationally recognized pioneer, author, national speaker and advocate, she has impacted these and other sectors with her career-long innovative accomplishments. Among them was the creation of the White House Conference on Health Savings Accounts, the assembling of a $35+ billion small business online marketing channel, and the founding of the National Robotics Education Foundation. The last organization channels funding into STEM education in anticipation of a growing deficit in professionals and service personnel trained in robotics skills.
At the same time, Laing was named among the Best 50 Women in Business in an awards program sponsored by NJBIZ, Wells Fargo, WithumSmith+Brown, PC, Comcast Business Class, and Wolff & Samson PC honoring New Jersey’s most dynamic women in business that have been making headlines in their field. Laing was selected for the outstanding contributions she made to the state of New Jersey, both in her industry and community.
Laing is executive chairperson of Information Strategies, Inc., best known for its advisory services to small businesses, consumer and stakeholder healthcare and digital media outlets. In this last sector, she was named a top woman in Silicon Alley.
Laing has 20+ years board experience, including 16 years with Silicon Valley and Bay Area companies.
