The Alliott Group is committed to giving back, and we are constantly seeking new ways to develop our involvement with pro bono projects. - James Hickey CEO Alliott Group

Alliott Group is a worldwide alliance of independent accounting, law and consulting firms. With more than 170 member firms in some 70 countries, the group meets the local and cross-border needs of its members and their clients.

The group is committed to its ‘Giving Something Back’ project and is working to achieve even greater involvement by its member firms in pro bono work, charitable fundraising and sustainable development.
As one of A4ID’s legal partners, Alliott Group’s member law firms can participate in interesting and meaningful pro bono work alongside leading INGOs, working at the cutting edge of legal practice on some of the world’s most challenging issues.

A4ID provides pro bono opportunities with international development organisations all over the world, working on projects of all sizes and requiring lawyers with a range of expertise, sometimes in cooperation with several other law firms. The charity has a network of more than 40,000 lawyers in around 90 countries and provides free legal advice to development organisations, civil society groups, bar associations, developing country governments and social enterprises.

Yasmin Batliwala, Chief Executive of A4ID commented:
“The Alliott Group is a great resource for our member organisations and we are very excited to be renewing our partnership with an international network of such a diverse range of high-quality partner firms.”

Advocates for International Development (A4ID) was set up in 2006 as a charity to utilise the law and lawyers in the fight to eradicate world poverty and work towards the Millennium Development Goals. As part of its work A4ID offers a pro bono broker service between over 400 development partners, including Oxfam, ActionAid, Christian Aid and Save the Children, and 45 legal partners. Last year A4ID allocated over 300 pro bono projects of different types, ranging from support to back-office functions to providing research that led to recommendations for legal change.
