Enfield, NH (PRWEB) February 25, 2013
Leading Edge Design Group (LEDG), a leading national provider of energy optimization services, announced today the phase two start of Associated Grocers of New England (AG New England) energy efficient LED lighting upgrade. Located in Pembroke, NH, the additional implementation of LED lighting and wireless controls will now decrease AG New England’s energy costs by over $221,000 a year, save approximately 1.4 million kWh of energy annually, and reduce energy consumption by 85%. AG New England’s overall LED lighting upgrade will drastically decrease maintenance costs and reduce their annual carbon footprint by 2.16 million pounds.
LEDG advised AGNE to select the LED-based Intelligent Lighting System from Digital Lumens. Already an energy efficient success in the freezer storage area, the system is replacing the aging, T5HO fluorescent lighting installed throughout other sections of the 380,000-square-foot distribution center including the docking, cold storage, maintenance, dry goods, and salvage. With best-in-class LED technology and integrated intelligence, the Digital Lumens fixture delivers light exactly where it is needed. As part of the Digital Lumens Intelligent Lighting System, the fixture integrates occupancy sensing and centralized controls to deliver light only when it is needed to minimize energy usage.
“Leading Edge Design Group’s phase one recommendations immediately delivered the energy and cost savings we needed for our organization,” says Bruce Courtois, Facilities Manager, AG New England. “Expanding the use of LED lighting technologies significantly improves our bottom line and accelerates our long-term growth and sustainability efforts.”
LEDG worked with Public Service of New Hampshire (PSNH) and the New Hampshire Pay for Performance Program (NHP4P) to secure significant energy rebates for the project helping AG New England realize an approximate one-year return on investment.
“The recent success of the LED lighting and wireless lighting controls implementation in AGNE’s freezer storage area demonstrated the remarkable potential for energy savings available in their facility and we are thrilled with their decision to implement the solution throughout the entire warehouse facility,” said Jay Boucher, Principal, LEDG. “We are grateful for AGNE’s continued trust in our services and for the opportunity to be a partner to them in their progressive efforts to reduce energy consumption.”
