AmericanTowns, LLC has launched a rolling redesign of AmericanTowns.com, expanding and re-focusing its rich content offering for every town in America. The updated AmericanTowns site presents a more detailed section on “Things to Do” (featured on the Home Page and throughout the site), plus new navigation features and a more user-friendly design aesthetic. As part of the redesign, AmericanTowns will also be introducing additional content surrounding restaurants, concerts and other events, as well as a mobile application in the months ahead.
“We continue to enhance our local platform, which allows people to find engaging activities, events and local information wherever they are in America,” said Ed Panian, Co-President of AmericanTowns.com. “This updated platform not only facilitates local discovery for the user, but also enables AmericanTowns to bring you the best local things to do in any location.”
Drawing from its deep local information across the nation, AmericanTowns now provides each town in America with its own section highlighting great “Things to Do” in and around that town. These “Things to Do” include more than four million arts and entertainment events, top restaurants and cafes, museums and theatres, seasonal activities such as farmers markets and apple picking, community goings-on and volunteer opportunities. Each featured activity directs the user to additional information, similar activities in the area and nearby resources (coffee shops, gas, information center, Wi-Fi, etc.). The updated AmericanTowns also includes a redesigned header and navigation bar so users can more easily locate what they are looking for.
“AmericanTowns has long been the leader in providing a rich set of local information for every town in the country,” explained Jim Maglione, AmericanTowns’ Co-President, Community. “AmericanTowns’ redesigned and expanded “Things to Do” section offers more of the depth, breadth, and relevance of content that our users have come to expect.”
AmericanTowns is a profitable, hyperlocal platform supporting a national network of local community web sites. Twenty million Americans use AmericanTowns.com each year to discover and share the local information most important to their daily lives. AmericanTowns L.L.C. is headquartered in Fairfield, CT.
