Acadian Ambulance Service’s Central Texas region was honored for its commitment to safety during a ceremony this week in Austin.
The region, which includes Travis, Williamson, Hays and Bell counties, and its employees received the President’s Cup for Safety Excellence, given annually to the area with the best safety performance in the company.
Each area is ranked using a scorecard that measures metrics such as miles driven between preventable vehicle incidents and the OSHA recordable incident rate; credit also is given for employee participation in Acadian’s annual wellness tests and fitness challenges.
“At Acadian, safety comes first,” company President David Pierce said. “We will accept nothing less than a complete commitment to safety, and our Central Texas team members are leading the way.”
The program uses a combination of leading (before the incident) and lagging (after the incident) metrics to evaluate an area’s Health, Safety and Environmental performance.
Acadian Ambulance is committed to their patients and their communities. They are an emergency and non-emergency medical transportation provider to Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi.
Since 1971, Acadian has provided the highest level of emergency medical care and transportation possible. In the past decade, the company has expanded to include a diverse suite of services in health, safety, and transportation. Acadian’s six divisions are Acadian Ambulance Service, Acadian Monitoring Services, Air Med, Executive Aircraft Charter Service, National EMS Academy and Safety Management Systems.
