The Association of Pool & Spa Professionals (APSP) recognizes Paulette Pitrak as the latest inductee into the Association's esteemed Fellows Program. Pitrak, Deputy Executive Director of the Northeast Spa & Pool Association (NESPA), has more than 25 years of commitment to the pool and spa industry.
Pitrak, honored January 30 during the Atlantic City Pool & Spa Show, has served as deputy executive director of NESPA since 1998. In addition to the role, she is considered NESPA’s foremost expert on regional building codes. Prior to accepting the position of deputy executive director, Pitrak was director of education for both NESPA (1992-98) and APSP (1989-92) and manager of education programs for APSP (1988-89).

APSP established the Fellows program in November 2012. The peer-nominated honor was developed by the APSP Board of Directors to recognize industry leaders whose contributions have enhanced the professionalism of the pool and spa industry. The inaugural cadre of Fellows, announced November 5 at the International Pool | Spa | Patio Expo, included: Jana Auringer, The Pool Lady; Bob Barron, CBP, CSP, Baron Pool Service; Steve Barnes, Pentair Aquatic Systems; Dan Johnson, CBP, Swim Inc.; Mark Laven, Latham International; Ron Lacher, CBP, Pool Engineering; Albert Rizzo, CBP, CSP Rizzo Pools; Rick English, CBP, English Pool Consulting; and posthumously honored were Al Inglin, Aqua Pool Service & Spa; and Tom Seechuk, LaMotte.
“Without question, Paulette’s contribution has substantially increased the professionalism of the industry at large,” said Steve Gorlin, CBP, CSP, CPO, Gorlin Pools & Spas and Chairmanof the APSP Board of Directors. “As with all the APSP Fellows, we owe a debt of gratitude to Paulette. We take great pleasure that Paulette is being recognized by her peers and the industry with this prestigious honor.”
There is no single criterion for selection as an APSP Fellow. Each year, APSP will name 12 individuals as Fellows.
