Informly Launches to Help Web Design Companies Build Recurring Revenue

After releasing their main analytics app in December 2012 to small business owners, Informly has released their agency version which enables web design companies to send simple stats to their clients.

With his background as an agency owner, Informly founder Dan Norris explains the origins of the product: 'Informly actually started as a system that I built for my agency to email web stats to our clients. Reports from Google Analytics were way too complex for average business owners and clients were happy to pay for me to support them each month with simpler charts that they could make sense of’.

The agency version of Informly connects to popular cloud applications like Google Analytics, Siteuptime, Xero and MailChimp and lets freelancers and agencies build simple reports that can be automatically sent to their clients. Clients are imported in bulk from Google Analytics and the charts are added automatically. The agency owner can then set up the text for the email that goes out. Clients can see simple month by month charts showing clearly what metrics are going up and what ones need attention. Examples include website visitors, conversions, search engine rankings and server uptime.

The agency can also choose to allow the clients to login and access their dashboard via their browsers or mobile phones as well to get live data throughout the month.

Dan says some web design agencies are charging directly for the service while others are offering it to the clients they already have on a retainer as a value add. Others are just proactively sending them to all clients as a way of adding value and staying in touch.
