Tony Schy, Managing Director of Velocity Indiana, an Entrepreneur Center focused on developing the entrepreneurial ecosystem through education and programming initiatives; announced its initial invitation today to potential candidates for its new, mentor driven, business accelerator program. The business accelerator program is targeted to begin in June of this year with five early-stage companies.

While the official application process has begun, final details are being completed on the space that Velocity Indiana will occupy as well as identify those individuals that will sit on the Board of Directors and it’s the Advisory Board.
“We are very close to finalizing the space where we will sit up shop,” said Schy, “and I am really excited about the people we are having discussions with in regards to filling the board positions.”
According to Schy, the plans are for the Board of Directors to have individuals that understand the entrepreneurial spirit and the need for help these entrepreneurs in direction, opportunities and capital.
The Advisory Board will be comprised of individuals throughout the Southern Indiana and Louisville area that are involved in economic development and education as well as those that have been involved in start-ups or new business development.
“It’s all coming together”, said Schy.
Velocity is an Entrepreneur Center in Southern Indiana focused on developing the entrepreneurial ecosystem through education and programming initiatives. The business accelerator is a premiere program of Velocity Indiana and will accept five early-stage companies into an intense 100 day program based on the principles of the Lean Startup movement and Customer Development process. The teams will be surrounded by 40-80 of the best mentors from a variety of backgrounds. The program will include office and meeting space and $ 20,000 in seed capital.
