Digitalrep LLC, the company that turns data into decisions, announced today that it has released Planomart 2.0, the company's unequaled space analysis and reporting application for retailers and consumer packaged goods companies.
Planomart 2.0 features an intuitive new user interface, which provides a dashboard for users, as well as increased flexibility in its reporting module. The analytic software’s modular reporting framework includes pre-built calculation modules that can be applied at any attribute level (brand, package, segment, etc.).
Planomart enables space planners to ensure that all schematics in the system are uniform in structure and adhere to organizational standards, using ETL (extraction, transformation, and load) processes to kick-off validation services – as data is imported into Planomart’s warehouse. This latest revision of Planomart also includes simplified and improved clustering tools that speed-up planogram build times – when space lab professionals build new sets from the data in the system to share with business partners. Now, these exports can be geography-based too, using new data sources to produce data sets defined for specific regions, states, and/or management units.
“We are extremely pleased to release our second generation Planomart offering,” said John Meaney, President at Digitalrep. “Our team has invested many long hours into Planomart, and the result is a software application that elegantly addresses very complex tasks, making it much easier for category management professionals to compare planogram data from disparate time periods and identify what’s changed over time.”
For consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies, Planomart enables space planners to evaluate their retail partners’ merchandising schemes to understand how their products are displayed, the amount of space afforded them and over time, whether that space is increasing or decreasing.
Using a data warehousing approach, Planomart is able to “slice and dice” terabytes of space and performance data to present different views of the information – whether it’s organized by product attributes, geography, outlet, or distribution information. Of course, it’s critical for any CPG company to understand and quantify its relative performance in the distribution channel. Not only does Planomart provide analysis by retailer, but also it enables geographically oriented reports. CPG companies can evaluate their relative success by state, region, management unit, and so on.
For retailers, Planomart enables merchandising professionals to identify products that are not “pulling their weight,” vendors that deserve more attention than they may be getting, and to find distribution voids, which are gaps in distribution. When you have a popular item that is not on the shelf, it’s a huge loss for both the retailer and the vendor.
