Washington, DC (PRWEB) February 28, 2013
Salsa Labs, Inc. (Salsa), creator of the online, integrated platform for nonprofit fundraising, communications, advocacy and organizing, announced a new partnership with Groupon Grassroots designed to help nonprofits turn their Groupon Grassroots fundraising campaign into a donor acquisition and retention campaign by offering a special discount for Groupon Grassroots community partners to purchase Salsa.
Groupon Grassroots is a fully integrated part of the Groupon family, and leverages the collective action platform as a simple way to discover and support local causes. Building on Groupon’s foundation of e-commerce leadership and local business development, Groupon Grassroots focuses its power to do good by empowering people to improve their communities with local projects. As of February 2013, Groupon Grassroots has run more than 1,200 campaigns and raised just under $5,000,000 from roughly 200,000 supporters nationwide.
KaBOOM! was the first Salsa client to take full advantage of a Groupon Grassroots campaign for both fundraising and donor acquisition with significant success including recruiting almost 500 new donors. Nonprofits who want to duplicate their success may learn all the details of the KaBOOM! Grassroots campaign, which includes this free webinar recording.
“Salsa is the only tool we use to track our contacts and it worked well with our Groupon Grassroots Campaign,” said Anna Morozovsky, senior manager individual giving and major gifts, KaBOOM!. “[For us], the information captured is more important than the first $10 donation. We turned one-time donors into lifelong supporters, and Salsa was the reason we were able to do this.”
“When KaBOOM! utilized their Salsa technology, along with the Groupon Grassroots campaign exposure, they were able to make a big impact in a local community,” said JB Rauch, vice president of partner programs for Salsa. “This new partnership will offer other campaign applicants the chance to make the most of their Groupon Grassroots efforts – raising money, capturing new donor information and then building a long-term relationship with Salsa’s help.”
As a strategic partner to Salsa, Groupon Grassroots applicants will be able to take advantage of a special 10 percent discount on their first three months of Salsa and a 50 percent discount on the initial set-up fees. Additionally, Salsa clients will be able to work with their account managers to gain Salsa’s experience and expertise in both applying for a Groupon Grassroots campaign, and if accepted, making the campaign a success.
KaBOOM! is the national non-profit dedicated to saving play. Children today spend less time playing outdoors than any previous generation, a fact that is having disastrous consequences on their health, achievement levels, and overall well-being. To fight this Play Deficit, social entrepreneur Darell Hammond founded non-profit KaBOOM! in 1996 in Washington, D.C. with a vision of creating a great place to play within walking distance of every child in America. Since then, KaBOOM! has mapped over 90,000 places to play, built more than 2,200 playgrounds, and successfully advocated for play policies in hundreds of cities across the country. KaBOOM! also provides communities with online tools to self-organize and take action to support play on both a local and national level.
