Argentina’s La Vaca Muerta in the Neuquén Basin is estimated to have 750 million barrels of oil and 4.5 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, potentially making Argentina the world’s third-largest oil and gas provider.

Infocast, the leading producer of oil and gas events, introduces two of its most successful series to Argentina. Water Management for Shale Plays Argentina and Frac Supply Chain Summit Argentina will be co-located in Buenos Aires and take place on April 16-18, 2013.

Argentina’s La Vaca Muerta in the Neuquén Basin is estimated to have 750 million barrels of oil and 4.5 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, potentially making Argentina the world’s third-largest oil and gas provider. It is also believed that La Vaca Muerta could hold up to 22.8 billion barrels of oil equivalent.

But there’s also a potential threat to development of the oil and gas reserves – and that’s a lack of the supplies and water needed for hydraulic fracturing. Experts say it could take 38 billion gallons of water to get at the enormous oil and gas reserves – an amount of water equal to the total amount of water supplied daily by public systems to the whole country. Proppant takes 45 days to arrive on site, travelling hundreds of miles from Brazil on two sets of trains and a 60- to 70-mile journey by truck on unpaved roads.

To address this need, Infocast is pleased to present two consecutive, cutting-edge events: Water Management of Shale Plays Argentina and Frac Supply Chain Summit Argentina. These events present the best opportunity to receive useful, detailed, up-to–date information to learn the economics of good water systems, integrated treatments and the necessary supporting infrastructure and supply chain to support fruitful hydraulic fracturing.
