This finalist position shows that enterprises in all sectors realize BYOD is a multiple industry phenomenon and AirPatrol has a unique approach to addressing it.
Columbia, MD (PRWEB) February 27, 2013
AirPatrol is one of 30 companies that move on to the next round in recognition of innovative entrepreneurs and start-ups nation-wide. Maryland’s inaugural challenge put on by the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development (DBED) has narrowed possible awardees from over 250 applicants to those companies that will present in front of judges on March 5, 2013.
A finalist in the technology category, AirPatrol is in competition with other Maryland companies ranging from social media engagement software, software that applies personality to decision making, bidding wars on car rental prices software, and more. AirPatrol is unique in the competition as it is a combination of technology and security.
“AirPatrol is proud to be recognized as a national innovator by the InvestMaryland Challenge,” said Cleve Adams, AirPatrol CEO. “The need for mobile security that depends on contextual information may be a new idea to many outside of technology. This finalist position shows that enterprises in all sectors realize BYOD is a multiple industry phenomenon and AirPatrol has a unique approach to addressing it.”
AirPatrol continues to release new solutions for the mobile security market. Just last week an announcement was made regarding ZoneDefense LT. ZoneDefense LT is an advanced Wireless Intrusion Detection System for both Wi-Fi and cellular devices. Originally developed for government, military and high-security commercial installations, ZoneDefense LT continuously monitors an environment for the presence of both authorized and unauthorized wireless devices, pinpoints their location within 10 feet and triggers actionable alerts based on user defined zones. With integration with leading MDM, MAM, and MXM solutions, AirPatrol is currently demoing the solution at the RSA conference in San Francisco.
To date, InvestMaryland has invested over $2.2 million in multiple Maryland companies. The grand prizes will be awarded on April 15.
