“Every dollar we earn goes directly to Sun Sounds of Arizona, all made possible through the donations of participating brewers, sponsors and the work of hundreds of volunteers."
Tempe, AZ (PRWEB) February 28, 2013
Attracting thousands of beer connoisseurs each year from across the Valley and beyond, the 25th Annual Great Arizona Beer Festival, presented by azcentral.com, takes place March 2, 2013 from 2 pm to 6 pm (VIP entry at 1 pm) at Tempe Beach Park. Featuring over 200 craft, specialty and micro-brewed beers from over 50 breweries across Arizona, the US and around the globe, the Great Arizona Beer Festival is the largest beer festival in the southwest, both in number of brewers attending and selection of craft beers. The festival is also the longest-running beer festival in Arizona, celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
Because participating breweries generously donate the beer served at The Great Arizona Beer Festival to benefit the work of Sun Sounds of Arizona, 100 percent of the proceeds go straight to support this unique non-profit organization, which provides access to newspapers, magazines, periodicals and books for 49,000 blind and print-impaired listeners in Arizona. Content is available 24/7 via radio, phone, internet and cable TV, and is produced and delivered by 500 volunteer readers throughout the state.
“For 25 years we’ve been reaching out to craft beer fans and this year is no different. We invite everyone to experience the evolution of beer and raise money for an amazing local charity,” says Eric Adams, Chair of the 2013 event. “Every dollar we earn goes directly to Sun Sounds of Arizona, all made possible through the donations of participating brewers, sponsors and the work of hundreds of volunteers.”
The festival’s Safe Ride Home program sponsored by Casino Arizona and Talking Stick Resort ensures opportunities for everyone to make it home safely, whether by taxi, designated driver or the nearby Valley METRO Light Rail.
Other sponsors include AlphaGraphics, official event printing and communications firm; Sethmatics, official mobile web provider; KDKB 93.3 FM, official FM radio sponsor; Arizona Sports & Lifestyle magazine, official sports talk sponsor; and La Bocca Urban Pizzeria and Wine Bar sponsoring the first Great Arizona Beer Festival wine garden.
The VIP Experience features casino-style gaming including blackjack, poker, roulette and craps. VIPs also enjoy catered food provided courtesy of Boulders on Broadway, The Handlebar Tempe, Monti’s, Cadillac Ranch and Brio Tuscan Grille. Additional VIP perks include early entry to the festival, an exclusive lounge area, seating with shade, access to award-winning brewers, VIP entertainment, separate restrooms, Fun in a Flash green screen photo booth, a dual-pour sampling mug, a 25th anniversary patch and a $10 gift certificate to The Handlebar Tempe.
Designated Drivers enjoy access to the private Designated Driver Pavilion, featuring non-alcoholic beverages supplied by Kalil and food provided by BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse. Free massages are provided to designated drivers courtesy of Arizona School of Massage Therapy, and soothing live Native American flute music will be performed by Kel Mockingbird. Other amenities such as yoga classes and toe readings are available in the exclusive Designated Driver Pavilion.
The festival also features live music, games, a variety of food and food trucks, various vendors and entertainment for attendees age 21 and over. Live musical entertainment acts include Tommy Anderson, Big Nick and the Gila Monsters and The Grove Merchants.
