Gulf Coast Addiction Treatment recently released a personal story of success that helps people learn more about the center as well as about recovery in general. Center founders Randy and Debbie Ross know firsthand that a person’s first attempt at recovery is not always a successful attempt at recovery, which is exactly what happened when their son Chris failed at his multiple attempts to find a program that worked for him.
“After the fourth unsuccessful attempt we knew that there had to be a better way,” said founder Debbie Ross. “Randy and I spent countless hours researching what worked and what didn’t work. We found that to consistently produce drug-free individuals the center needed to be small and that the recovery method utilize a true, hands-on, one-on-one approach throughout the entire program – not just during counseling sessions.”
As the center’s personal story explains, that one-on-one, personalized approach is one of the main elements that has helped launch Golf Coast Addiction Treatment to global success. The National Institute on Drug Abuse notes one of the elements of a successful recovery program as a personalized treatment program that assesses and meets all the needs of an individual, which is what Gulf Coast Addiction Treatment does by including one-on-one attention far beyond the counseling sessions.
During her extensive research on recovery facilities, Debbie Ross also discovered people were prone to focusing on any negative aspects of a center they could find, such as bad food, dirty surroundings or a less-than-amicable staff. Focusing on the negatives, rather than the positive, took the focus entirely off of recovery. The center’s story outlines how those hurdles were overcome by aiming to eliminate the most common pitfalls.
What has become a luxury addiction treatment center began as Randy and Debbie Ross's home, which they transformed into a facility that offers home-cooked meals, private rooms, private pool and hot tub access and additional amenities that include Internet and cable TV. Gulf Coast Addiction Treatment’s personal story serves one more purpose. It acts as an analogy for an individual’s personal story of success. Randy and Debbie Ross found themselves in a hopeless state of despair trying to help their son get sober, but were able to help him transform that despair into a new life of recovery.
Located on the Gulf of Mexico in Destin, Florida, Gulf Coast Addiction Treatment boasts a serene setting, luxurious surroundings and, most importantly, the research-based programs that can help people recovery from drug and alcohol abuse and addiction. The center offers a variety of non-12-step, holistic options for creating a personalized recovery program focused on lasting recovery.
