As part of its “GT Cares” community service program, the Miami office of international law firm Greenberg Traurig will participate in the United Way “Dare to Dodge” dodgeball tournament next month. The event, which the firm kicked off in 2010 as an internal fundraising initiative for the United Way of Miami-Dade, will now feature an action-packed law firm vs. law firm competition taking place from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 13, at the indoor basketball court of the JW Marriott Marquis in downtown Miami at 255 Biscayne Boulevard Way, Miami, FL, 33131.

“We are thrilled that Greenberg Traurig’s annual dodgeball tournament has become a community-wide initiative and are excited to join forces with our legal counterparts to show our support of the United Way,” said Jaret L. Davis, co-managing shareholder of the Greenberg Traurig Miami office. “This tournament is an important part of our ongoing ‘GT Cares’ community service program, which raises money and provides support to organizations that make a meaningful, measurable positive impact on our local community.”

The money is raised from the entry fees paid by the participants. Players include attorneys and business staff members from Greenberg Traurig, Akerman Senterfitt, Bilzin Sumberg and Carlton Fields. The winner will receive bragging rights.

“We greatly appreciate the enthusiasm and support from the law firms participating in the dodgeball tournament,” said Harve A. Mogul CEO of the United Way of Miami-Dade. “It means a lot to see these major legal players in the community coming together in the spirit of fun and to support our mission.”
