With this partnership, NaphCare welcomes the opportunity to provide comprehensive healthcare services to approximately 1,600 inmates and to be a part of the Mobile community of employers.
Mobile County Sheriff Sam Cochran commented on the selection of NaphCare as the provider: “This was a competitive process and we believe our choice of NaphCare will create a new opportunity to improve the health of our jail population and save the county additional dollars in the future. NaphCare brings experience utilizing proven corrections-based technology and has extensive experience in large jail operations. We look forward to this partnership.”
As part of the agreement, NaphCare will install its customized correctional healthcare electronic health record (EHR) system, TechCare™ on the first day of operations at the Mobile County facilities. NaphCare’s EHR recently received ONC-CCHIT Meaningful Use Certification, which will enhance security, create efficiencies and increase communication for both medical and security by integrating outside vendors, automating the sick call process, and decreasing movement inside the Jail.
“We are excited to begin our partnership with Sheriff Sam Cochran and Mobile County,” said CEO James S. McLane. “This facility, its leadership, its staff and its operations are models of leading correctional management and visionary planning for care. This is an opportunity for NaphCare to align our experience, our system and our philosophy of providing the highest quality correctional health care to partner with Mobile County in its service and cost-saving goals.”
NaphCare is an independent provider of correctional health care services and technology solutions and currently serves 49 clients in 26 states. The TechCare™ system is a correctional healthcare operating system, developed, supported and owned by NaphCare, Inc.
