John Marshall Law School students will be competing in the national Texas Young Lawyers Association Trial Advocacy Competition April 3 through 7, 2013, in San Antonio.
The team of Andrew McElligott, Sarah Ross and Eric Wojnicki won the right to advance to the national competition after placing in the Midwest regional competition in February. Ross also was named Best Advocate. Twelve other teams were competitors.
At the American Bar Association’s Negotiation Competition Feb. 8 and 9, the John Marshall Law School team of Kara Krueger and Luke Wiley were named National Quarterfinalists.
At the American Bar Association Client Counseling Competition Feb. 8 and 9, the John Marshall Law School team of Lauren Rankins and Sara Tremurici were named regional semifinalists.
The Center for Advocacy and Dispute Resolution is the nexus of John Marshall's various skills-related programs and courses. Adhering to the theme of "learning from practice," students become advocates through myriad clinical program placements, concentrated JD and LLM curriculum, and preparation for trial advocacy, client-counseling, negotiation, and mediation competitions.
The John Marshall Law School in Chicago offers JD certificates in Trial Advocacy or Dispute Resolution, and an LLM degree in Trial Advocacy and Dispute Resolution.
