The Real Estate Marketing Insider reveals its Mobile Marketing Story of the Week following recent news in the InvestorPlace that three of the biggest online real estate sites are reporting huge gains from their mobile advertising presence.

The Real Estate Marketing Insider announced its Mobile Marketing Story of the Week after a news report in the InvestorPlace indicated that three big-name real estate websites are reaping benefits from their use of mobile marketing for real estate. REMI used its choice for the weekly award to remind realtors of the important role of mobile devices in real estate marketing.

Trulia, Zillow, and Angie’s List are three of the biggest web destinations for curious real estate buyers and sellers. While the three have different business models, interfaces, and mission statements, there are a handful of things they do share. For instance, they all reported huge gains in the fourth quarter of 2012, and all three have seen their stock rocket upwards in the last few days, according to the InvestorPlace report. Experts say that the reason these three firms have had big gains may be because they all have robust offerings for mobile users. All three boast well-designed, easy-to-use mobile apps. In fact, Zillow has 23 unique apps dedicated to real estate. Both Zillow and Trulia also have apps that offer GPS triangulation, which helps realtors identify a client “on the road” looking at properties. The user base for these mobile apps can’t be overstated. According to Tom Taulli, InvestorPlace Writer & IPO Playbook Editor, Zillow recently reported “46 million unique users, with more than half coming from mobile sources.”

REMI has previously examined the effect of mobile devices on real estate marketing campaigns for local and small-market realtors. However, given the success bigger firms and companies have had with mobile marketing, any realty firm that’s looking to compete with bigger and wealthier practices needs to cultivate a mobile presence. The Insider urges realtors to take a hard look at their mobile offerings and consider expanding them. As this week’s Mobile Marketing Story of the Week shows, the payoff can be substantial.

The Real Estate Marketing Insider announced its weekly choice of the Mobile Marketing Story of the Week. This week’s award went to a news story in the InvestorPlace which stated that three large real estate websites – Trulia, Zillow, and Angie’s List – had reported big gains in the last quarter, and that their mobile marketing options had contributed significantly.
