Valeo Design & Marketing, an internet marketing and web design company in Memphis, Tenn., has announced plans to offer specialized online marketing services catered to higher education institutions.

The company’s new higher education package includes SEO, social media and content marketing services tailored for colleges and universities. For James Hutto, Valeo Marketing’s managing project director, the new services are backed by the company’s experience working with George Mason University.

“Our experience with George Mason has provided us with insight into the unique online marketing needs and challenges that colleges and universities regularly encounter.” Hutto said. “We understand the obstacles associated with higher education and we know how to effectively implement solutions to these problems.”

Some of the problems the Valeo team has worked to alleviate while parterned with George Mason include a high cost per lead and a long, 12-18 month decision cycle, particularly for students seeking graduate degrees in areas like business and technology.

“We've found that one of the keys to online success for higher education is by focusing on conversions,” Hutto said. “We do that utilizing sophisticated methods of capturing prospective students and nurturing them with great content like blog posts and downloadable ebooks.”

Valeo found notable success with an integrated, inbound marketing campaign for George Mason’s Master’s in Real Estate Development program. The company worked with the faculty and staff to produce blog posts and downloadable e-books to promote the degree program and the George Mason University School of Management.

While nationally targeted inbound campaigns were crucial for the success of Mason’s online campaign, equal attention was placed on competing with other Universities in the Washington D.C. area. According to James Hutto, this is another example of a challenge that is unique to internet marketing campaigns for higher education.
