Investment management firm Bluerock announced today that it has hired Nathan Headrick to lead its Bluerock Capital Markets (BRCM) affiliate as President. Headrick will be responsible for expanding BRCM’s sales team as well as the scope of its nationwide broker-dealer partner base. An established leader in the retail/alternative investment space, he will also assist in shaping strategy for BRCM’s new product lines.
“Nathan’s relationships in the industry and his experience in capital raising will be critical as we continue to expand our offerings and our presence in the market,” said Randy Anderson, President of Bluerock. “As important, he has a very sharply-honed understanding of the sales process and how to create investor-friendly products that fit well within regulatory requirements,” Anderson added.
Headrick joins Bluerock from alternative investment firm CNL Financial, where he was a senior executive in the company’s capital markets and securities brokerage subsidiaries. He was a key player in CNL’s strategic positioning, working closely with the firm’s leadership to shape the offerings that would become CNL’s global platform. During his tenure, CNL’s broker-dealer would underwrite $6 billion in total capital raise representing hundreds of thousands of investors in the retail broker-dealer channel.
“Bluerock is an energetic and creative innovator with tremendous intellectual capital and forward momentum. Its solutions for individual investors, many of which you’ll be hearing about in coming weeks and months, could be important game changers for the industry,” said Headrick. “It’s an exciting time to be joining the firm.”
Prior to joining CNL, Headrick practiced law as a corporate attorney with Foley & Lardner LLP. He earned his Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center, and holds a Masters of Theology from Harvard University as well as Bachelor Degrees in Political Science and in International Studies from the University of North Carolina.
Headrick is also a member of Florida State bar, the DC Court of Appeals bar and the Bar of the United States Supreme Court.
