Kent, Ohio (PRWEB) February 28, 2013
The numbers are in for the 2012 holiday season and high volume sales of Boogie Board® LCD eWriters made many North American toy store owners and managers very happy. That’s the story representatives of Improv Electronics heard often at its exhibit in the recent American International Toy Fair® in New York City and Canadian Toy & Hobby Fair in Toronto.
Penetration of the Boogie Board Original 8.5 eWriter into the North American toy channel grew quickly in 2012. Over 500 storefronts were selling Boogie Board eWriters by the end of the year.
“Many toy stores told us the Boogie Board Original 8.5 eWriter was their number one seller for the 2012 holiday period,” said Improv Electronics CEO Dr. Albert Green. “Although Boogie Board eWriters aren’t specifically designed as toys, they are tremendously appealing to children because they are unique—but more importantly—fun. Parents also love Boogie Board eWriters because they are simple to use, don’t require special writing instruments, are very durable and keep their kids engaged for hours.”
Based on its 2012 results in the North American toy channel, and large crowds at its booth in the recent International Toy Fair in Nuremberg and Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair, Improv Electronics expects strong penetration of Boogie Board eWriters into the global toy channel in 2013.
Boogie Board eWriters also garnered several 2012 toy industry awards. Learning Express Toys specialty educational toy store named the Boogie Board Original 8.5 eWriter “Toy of the Year” for delivering a better sales performance than any other product across all 140 franchise locations in the U.S. It was also named “Best Science/Whiz Kid Toy” while Improv Electronics took home the award for “Best New Vendor.” TDMonthly magazine recognized Boogie Board eWriters as one of its top 10 travel toys.
In addition to Learning Express Toys, Boogie Board Original 8.5 LCD eWriters are available for purchase in North America from many ASTRA-member stores as well as Toys R Us Canada, Marbles: the Brain, Mastermind Toys, Fat Brain Toys and Creative Kidstuff.
