Pacific Prime has announced a new plan for clients in the United Arab Emirates after collaborating with international insurance providers, InterGlobal. The plan is designed to meet the requirements of the ever growing market of expatriates looking for individual medical insurance in the UAE. InterGlobal and Pacific Prime have used their experience and knowledge of the local area to tailor specifically to the regions changing needs.

The new comprehensive medical plan covers inpatient and outpatient medical expenses and has some additional benefits which are rare in the UAE market. An outpatient direct billing network has been developed to suit the regions demands, as well as an outpatient co-payment system. Other features of the plan include an optional Dental add-on, as well as removing other benefits such as the Home Nursing and Hospital Cash benefits in an aim to reduce overall costs for clients not requiring these.

Allowing Dental coverage to be an optional benefit presents clients with the ability to significantly save on their premium, possibly by as much as 10 percent on the original premium costs. The current market standards in the UAE have led Pacific Prime and InterGlobal to replace the per-condition excess system; a change that offers a choice of either a 10 percent or 20 percent co-payment for outpatient treatment, which will reduce premiums by 12 or 16 percent respectively.

As hospitalisation costs in the UAE are relatively high in comparison to other global destinations, the new plan will continue to cover inpatient treatment. InterGlobal have also added an option to this, whereby clients agree to pay a portion of their inpatient treatment. This will achieve a reduction in the premium, but should also help InterGlobal control increasing costs for outpatient treatment at high cost facilities. In order to remain competitive and match the ease of service available with local providers, InterGlobal has also introduced outpatient direct billing to the new plan.

Benefits on InterGlobal’s initial plan, such as freedom of choice with full reimbursement at any facility, coverage for existing medical conditions, family discounts and a no claims discount on the renewal premium, will still continue to be available in the new plan.

Pacific Prime is confident in InterGlobal’s approach to suit market changes in the UAE, and looks forward to providing its clients with a comprehensive benefit plan in a region that continuously develops its appreciation of medical insurance.
