The fact the company formations have reached a record high shows that entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well in the town
High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire (PRWEB UK) 9 March 2013
2012 saw company formation in High Wycombe reach a record high, according to the latest Duport Business Confidence Report for the area.
The year saw a total of 980 new company formations - more than any other year on record for the town and an 8% rise when compared with 2011.
However, it is worth noting that net company growth in High Wycombe actually fell in 2012, due a high number of company closures over the year. In addition, the UK company share of the town also dropped between January and December.
Wycombe District Council's Cabinet has rubber stamped a range of projects totalling £1.85m, with the aim of regenerating the area. It has pledged £19,000 to the town centre, to improve public art, street furniture, de-cluttering and greenery in hopes that it will increase footfall and benefit town centre businesses.
Managing Director of Duport.co.uk, Peter Valaitis commented:
