The Facebook page along with Michael Carrick player profile on football.co.uk provide the only online location of the official PFA biography, lifetime stats, news and high resolution gallery.
Michael Carrick is an English footballer who plays as a midfielder for Manchester United. He has made 369 Premier League appearances for Manchester United. Carrick primarily plays as a centre midfielder. At the time of his move to Manchester United features of his play included his inventive distribution of the ball along with his passing and crossing abilities.
As a result of a defensive injury crisis at the club, Carrick started the 2012–13 season as a makeshift centre-back. His inexperience in the role was exploited by Everton in the season opener. On 24 November, Carrick was left out the squad that defeated Queens Park Rangers 3–1, ending his run of 33 consecutive league starts.
Head of Operations at DSG, Matthew Tait had this to say: "Michael Carrick really has no shortage of fans after his performances for Manchester United and England this season and we can see that by the success of his PFA Facebook page.”
“All of us here at Digital Sports Group are proud we've had the opportunity to work with The PFA to give the fans a fantastic and unique fan resource for Michael Carrick.”
DSG became the official digital partner of the Professional Footballers Association (PFA) earlier this year and have since launched a number of Player Profile fan pages on social media site Facebook as well as providing official player pages on their football news site football.co.uk.
