Letting agents in Scotland have had a tough time of it in recent months, with the introduction of the Tenancy Deposit Scheme, changes in ‘Premiums’ legislation, the imminent introduction of Tenant Information Packs and the ongoing consultation on dispute resolution in the sector.
Lettingweb and Lindsays solicitors have been working together to keep agents informed so that they can stay up to date with issues and make decisions on updating their practices accordingly. First of all that meant the launch of Lettinglegal, a free legal forum for Lettingweb members where Lindsays answer questions and post articles on the legal issues affecting the sector.
Now the leading letting portal and Scottish solicitors have teamed up again, this time for two free seminars addressing the issues that letting agents have to face in the current market, including:
Steve Tigar, Lettingweb’s Managing Director, had this to say about the event:
‘The significant regulatory changes in Scotland's private rental sector are having a direct impact on how letting agents run their businesses. Our core mission at Lettingweb is to make letting better and we are passionate about promoting the highest professional standards in the industry.’
‘We're delighted that Lindsays share this vision and following the successful launch of Lettinglegal we are looking forward to running these seminars to provide quality training and advice to letting agents across Scotland.’
Paul Harper, Partner and Head of the Housing and Private Letting team at Lindsays said:
“The success of Lettinglegal has shown us that there is a real need for regular communication on a number of burning issues affecting those in the industry just now. We look forward to delivering this latest raft of updates face to face at the seminars, and we expect some lively discussions at the Q&A session!” "
The two half-day events will take place in two locations, in Glasgow on 19th March and Edinburgh on 21st March. Booking early is advised. Members can sign up to either seminar here. (Please note that attendance is limited to one attendee per organization, due to high demand.)
