SAGE Broadband strengthens ROI on broadband network investments by communities and businesses

SAGE Broadband provides the powerful ability to use current network infrastructure as a backdrop in planning designing and estimating the cost of new fiber and wireless networks.

If you are involved in planning, designing or managing a fiber optic network, imagine a collaborative web-based GIS application that allows you to easily upload and present existing fiber networks, wireless networks, conduit, utility poles and anchor institutions and visualize on a map. Draw and post new network designs on the backdrop of existing network infrastructure. Collaborate with your team, management, and stakeholders/customers to build and quickly cost out intelligent fiber network plans and lateral builds. That application is SAGE Broadband.

ElanTech announces the release on SAGE Broadband, Version 1.5. This application is currently being used by Broadband Technology Opportunity Program (BTOP) federal grant recipients to deploy broadband plans, helping supply critical high-capacity connections to schools, libraries, hospitals and other vital anchor institutions and businesses that need more bandwidth.

According to Michael Salonish, ElanTech’s Vice President, "SAGE Broadband provides the ability to aggregate and analyze current network infrastructure. The application brings the powerful ability to use this information as a backdrop in planning, designing, and estimating the cost of new fiber and wireless networks. This results in an increased ROI on broadband network investments."

Internet service providers and fiber network consultants are using SAGE Broadband to support economic growth, job creation and improved education, healthcare and public safety. Local governments in Baltimore City and Howard County, Maryland are using SAGE Broadband to collect broadband network data, property information, and other community data to analyze the revenue impact of current and future fiber and wireless networks and to help design additional broadband capacity.

ElanTech is a woman owned small business (WOSB) software engineering firm established in November 1998 with corporate offices located in Greenbelt, Maryland.
