Greenberg Traurig Expands its Boston Real Estate Practice with the Addition of John J. Griffin, Jr.

March 5, 2013, Veteran real estate attorney John J. Griffin, Jr. has joined the Boston office of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP as of counsel in the firm’s Global Real Estate Practice.

In his new role, Griffin will continue to concentrate his practice in the areas of real estate development and permitting. He has represented a broad range of developers, lenders, and educational institutions and has been involved in several landmark projects, including Copley Place, Natick Mall, Shoppers World, and the expansion of the Boston College football stadium. Additionally, John argued before the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts in Massachusetts Broken Stone Company v. Weston, MA, the case that secured development permits for a quarry site on Route 128 in Weston, Massachusetts.

Griffin is a graduate of Harvard Law School and Boston College where he was formerly President of the Alumni Association. Griffin is actively involved in several charitable organizations including the Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Boston, Urban Edge and the American Ireland Fund.
