Knoxville-based Cellular Sales, the nation’s largest Verizon Wireless retailer, has announced it has hired Reese K. Thomas as its new general counsel.
Thomas brings more than 15 years of practical business and legal experience to Cellular Sales, where he will advise corporate management on legal affairs and business matters.
“Reese adds a wealth of legal experience to our corporate office,” said JT Thome, COO of Cellular Sales. “His background as both an executive and corporate lawyer makes him a valuable addition to Cellular Sales’ growing team.”
Prior to joining Cellular Sales, Thomas spent three years practicing corporate law at Knoxville firm, Egerton McAfee. In 1998, he became the chief operating officer of TIS Insurance Services, Inc., a national insurance broker based in Knoxville. In 2001, he was promoted to chief executive officer of TIS. In 2008, Thomas formed RKT LAW, PLLC, focusing on corporate law, real estate transactions and employment law.
Additionally, Thomas teaches contract drafting as an adjunct professor at UT Law School.
Thomas has a bachelor’s degree in finance from The University of Tennessee-Knoxville. He also attended UT for law school, graduating with highest honors in 1995. While in law school, he received the Chancellor’s Citation for Academic Excellence and was invited to join the Order of the Coif honor society.
