Private Investigators Manchester comment on the importance of crime prevention by helping illegal street beggars rebuild their lives in light of recent Sky News article by Joe Daunt dated 26th Feb 2013:The beggar who makes up to £150 per day

helping to keep people from sleeping rough and providing them with long term solutions will have the effect of reducing petting crimes and anti-social behaviour in our towns and cities.

According to the Sky News article by Joe Daunt a 29 year old beggar, Kirk Watson claims to make up to £150 per day begging on the streets of Newcastle to fund his drug habit. Although street begging is illegal and the public are discouraged from giving money to the homeless the proceeds are often used to buy drugs and alcohol. If beggars do not get the money they need to provide them with their fix they will turn to crime to get the money.

The report goes on to say that charities such as The Cyrenians have an outreach team who look out for people sleeping rough by establishing contact with these people in order to get to know them and build up trust so they can give them contact to services such as day centres, housing provision or local mental health facilities. With help from charities these people can get off the streets, stop committing crime and pull their lives back together.

Private Investigators Manchester are supportive of the good work that many of the homeless charities carry out and this work helps to prevent crime, including theft and anti-social behaviour. Private detectives are often hired by companies and the general public to help prevent the crimes committed by these people. Crime prevention plays a key role within Private Investigators Manchester attitude to helping the community.

Mary Rogers from Private Investigators Manchester said:

“In my professional opinion helping to keep people from sleeping rough and providing them with long term solutions will have the effect of reducing petting crimes and anti-social behaviour in our towns and cities. Charities should be supported and given financial and voluntary help as this will lead to a much better sustainable solution.”
