“Topco is proud to be the first grocery company to roll out the SISTEM food safety training to its members,” said Howard Popoola, Vice-President of Quality Assurance at Topco.
Austin, TX (PRWEB) March 05, 2013
Alchemy Systems, the global leader in food and workplace safety training for food workers, today announced the addition of nine food safety courses in the SISTEM® training platform for grocery operations. The SISTEM Training Platform addresses the top concerns of grocers including ensuring employee safety, reducing turnover rates, and improving productivity and increasing profitability.
SISTEM is the world’s leading food safety training and compliance platform for food workers. Its interactive training approach increases employee comprehension, improves performance, and provides automatic documentation of the results. “Last year six million courses were taken using the SISTEM training platform by Alchemy at over 1,400 food facilities worldwide,” said Jeff Eastman, CEO at Alchemy. “Several of those customers asked for additional food safety courses that targeted prepared foods, produce and other perimeter grocery departments.”
The SISTEM platform consists of highly engaging courses that can either be delivered in a group-based environment or individually through e-learning. The easy-to-use platform also automates documentation, eliminating labor intensive data entry, and provides real-time reports that meet federal e-signature requirements. There are over 70 multilingual courses in SISTEM that can be used by grocery stores including mandatory OSHA and EEOC topics, as well as grocery-related topics such as food safety, kitchen preparation and customer service. In addition, grocers can upload their own content in SISTEM, with the perks of ensuring validation and consistent record keeping.
Alchemy also announced that leading grocery aggregator Topco Associates, with more than 50 member-owners that collectively represent more than $120 billion in sales, would make the Alchemy grocery courses available to its members including retailers, wholesale distributors and foodservice companies. “Topco is proud to be the first grocery company to roll out the SISTEM food safety training to its members,” said Howard Popoola, Vice-President of Quality Assurance at Topco.
The new courses are a part of Alchemy’s mission to help promote safety throughout the food supply chain. Recent regulatory and industry standards, including the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) and Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) have mandated comprehensive food safety training programs.
