New Orleans, LA (PRWEB) March 02, 2013
AEGIS.net, Inc., leading provider of Health IT systems, services and interoperability, announced today their participation in the HIMSS 2013 Annual Conference and Exhibition Sunday, March 3rd through Thursday, March 7th in New Orleans, LA. Mario Hyland, Founder and Senior Vice President, along with a team of AEGIS staff will be exhibiting their Interoperability and Testing suite of services in addition to the other corporate capabilities of organization.
Interoperability has become a chief concern for healthcare information technology systems. Interoperability is important in supporting the Affordable Care Act (ACA), providing a means to significantly reduce fraud, waste, and abuse, and improving quality of care and care coordination by improving the usability of medical information (Meaningful Use). The AEGIS Integrated Ecosystem, powered by the AEGIS Developers Integration Lab (DIL), provides a method for vendors to demonstrate interoperability by monitoring patient data as it progresses through a medical episode across multiple interoperating systems. With a synthetic population of more than 10 Million potential patients (and growing), the Integrated Ecosystem can simulate a medical event or episode any time by injecting a series of coordinated synthetic medical events (SME) into the AEGIS Integrated Ecosystem and tracking the patient throughout their course of treatment. The AEGIS Integrated Ecosystem demonstrates that interoperability positively contributes to improved medical outcomes.
The ecosystem enables a collaborative learning culture among stakeholders sharing healthcare information and subsequently strengthening patient–clinician outcome partnerships through better patient portals and increased availability of lay-oriented, user-friendly clinical and nonmedical health data. At the core of the AEGIS Integrated Ecosystem is the Portal and Viewer, providing vendors a way to show off their interoperability architecture, metrics, and reports displaying how well they communicate at the technical and semantic level with other vendors. This enables health IT decision makers to make better informed purchasing decisions for their healthcare practice, hospital, or organization IT systems.
Visit AEGIS in booth #8732 in the exhibit hall and Interoperability Showcase during HIMSS13 to meet our industry leaders and see our demonstration of the Developers Integration Lab. AEGIS will present the DIL testing solution for health information exchange gateway, interoperability, and compatibility testing. The AEGIS DIL offers automated Test Driven Development (TDD) and Compliance Testing services through an Open Source Program. Its backbone is the cloud based infrastructure, consisting of over 250 gateways (servers), that supports this open source program. The DIL is a 24/7 testing environment that facilitates interoperability testing and helps organizations meet Meaningful Use standards. The DIL supports test cases (both positive and negative) for web services and message based enterprise solutions.
Gartner recently identified the Top 10 Strategic Technology Trends for 2013. Number nine on that list is Integrated Ecosystems. As an Integrated Testing Lab, the DIL helps health information systems ensure that their interoperability will support testing requirements for Meaningful Use (MU) Stage #1 and #2, and future Stages #3 through #5. This is vital for certification and compliance demonstrations, but it can also be leveraged on an ongoing basis to validate the continuous interoperability of health information exchange partners.
