Audio-Digest Foundation Announces the Release of Oncology Volume 04, Issue 01: Surveillance and Survivorship.

The goals of this program are to improve surveillance of patients with cancer diagnoses and management of survivorship issues. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:

1. Tailor surveillance for individual patients based on the available data and guidelines and educate patients on appropriate self-monitoring.
2. Recognize risk factors for a second primary tumor and determine appropriate means of surveillance in high-risk patients.
3. Guide patients toward realistic expectations of survivorship and provide them with healthy coping strategies to improve quality of life.
4. Provide support for caregivers of cancer survivors.
5. Effectively intervene and manage short-term and long-term consequences of cancer diagnosis and treatment.

The original programs were presented by Robert A. Wiebe, MD, Clinical Professor, Pediatric Emergency Medicine, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, and Lalit Bajaj, MD, MPH, Associate Professor of Pediatrics, University of Colorado School of Medicine, and Research Director, Section of Emergency Medicine, Children’s Hospital, Denver.
