Chattertons Solicitors have implemented BigHand with smartphone apps and speech recognition to make existing staff more productive and improve client care

BigHand, the market leading voice productivity software vendor in the global legal and professional services sector, has today announced that Lincolnshire solicitors, Chattertons have replaced their existing digital dictation system with BigHand to incorporate BigHand’s mobility apps and speech recognition integration. BigHand’s smartphone apps will make fee earners more productive by enabling them to work on the move or when travelling between Chattertons’ offices. BigHand’s speech recognition integration will reduce the amount of transcription for support staff, allowing them to take on a broader range of tasks. In short, BigHand will increase productivity without increasing the number of employees.

Liam Osborne, ICT Manager at Chattertons, commented:

“We decided to move to BigHand because it’s a more reliable and robust system. We have also incorporated BigHand’s smartphone apps and speech recognition in order to improve document turnaround times and client care, which is essential in the current economic climate.

“Our previous system was not fully integrated with speech recognition and we had difficulty sharing work between secretarial pools because workloads are not clearly visible. BigHand’s speech recognition integration will make our existing workforce more productive as it will reduce the burden of more mundane responsibilities such as transcription, enabling support staff to spend more time on technical and legal based work.

In the legal industry, time is of the essence, clients expect 24/7 availability and whilst that is not entirely possible, it is important that we equip Chattertons’ workforce with the tools needed to make this more of a reality; we see BigHand as instrumental in this effort.”
