Youth unemployment is set to top one million again this year. Welfare reforms will impact in 2013 and consequently there is a greater need for more jobs and training for residents and young people. The sixth annual National Apprenticeship Week reinforces the need for more paid jobs and training opportunities. The fair will offer young people the chance to speak directly with industry experts offering free advice and career guidance and opportunities.
Catherine Kyne, Director of Housing Operations at One Housing Group: “We are delighted to be hosting an apprenticeship fair in Tower Hamlets during National Apprenticeship week. We want to raise awareness of employment opportunities and highlight the importance of apprenticeships and training. We want to provide young people with options and the opportunity to learn on the job whilst gaining a qualification and getting paid.”
