By bringing in more equipment we can produce custom configurations of our lighting and power distribution panels quickly.

In order to expedite the development of new lighting and power distribution products like the MPD-45K-480V-20A 480V three phase mobile power distribution panel, Larson Electronics invested in several new pieces of fabrication and CNC equipment. The newest fabrication equipment includes two 120 ton iron workers, a plate roller, a magnetic brake press, two more Miller 350p aluminum welders and a Miller Tig welder. Two more Lagun mills and a Nardini lathe bring the total CNC related equipment to 4 lathes and 5 mills. A new 5X10 water jet table is scheduled for delivery next month.

On the product testing side, Larson Electronics brought the Radiant Zemax Prometric Near Field Measurement System, a two axis goniometer, online for measuring the color and intensity of various lighting products it produces. The PM-NFMS can produce IES files, EULUMDAT files, illuminance distribution on a plane as a table, and Radiant Source Models with NIST traceability for new products like the like the EPL-LP-24-LED explosion proof LED light.

“We place an emphasis on new product development and product customization for our commercial and industrial customers,” said Rob Bresnahan with LarsonElectronics.com. “By bringing in more equipment we can produce custom configurations of our lighting and power distribution panels quickly. Particularly in the portable hazardous lighting and power distribution panel marketplace, most customers have requirements unique to a particular project. Given that they are going to pay a relatively higher price tag to meet hazardous area worksite requirements, it helps to know that they will be getting a configuration that works for them, instead of working around the design of the equipment.”

Larson Electronics continues to develop innovative lighting and power distribution products for commercial and industrial customers, including a wide range of LED and HID products for hazardous location area use.
