Singly, an infrastructure service for data-driven apps, today announced the hiring of two executive team members, Dave Smith and Kevin Zellmer, to support its growth. The company continues to expand its team as it carries out its mission of helping developers and enterprises build data-rich, intelligent apps without having to handle the work and challenges of API integrations, data syncing, transformation, organization, scalability and maintenance.
Dave “Dizzy” Smith joins as Vice President of Engineering. Prior to joining Singly, Smith served as the Vice President of Engineering at Basho, where he drove seven major releases of Riak and led engineering team from 5 to 22 people over the course of 2 years. He brings with him 16 years of experience in low-latency datastores, real-time messaging systems, identity federation and authentication, and open source leadership. Smith will be responsible for overseeing the engineering team and guiding product development.
“We’re thrilled to have someone as talented as Dizzy who also possesses a powerful set of experiences across scalable infrastructure, data movement, identity and team leadership,” said Jason Cavnar, co-founder and CEO of Singly. “Dizzy was an instrumental part of the success of Basho/Riak, Ping Identity and XMPP/Jabber, and is actively involved in the Erlang community as well. His background couldn't be a better fit for what we are doing, and he really sets the stage for the next chapters of our product and company growth.”
Kevin Zellmer joins as Vice President of Sales and Marketing and comes onboard as the company begins to advance its larger technical sales relationships. He will be tasked with customer enablement, building Singly’s agency and enterprise ecosystem and expanding Singly’s community marketing as the company crosses the 6,000 developer mark. Kevin has spent more than 17 years leading teams of venture-backed SaaS companies, most recently leading business development and customer success at Hearsay Social. He has also held senior positions in sales and business development with KickApps, Cisco’s FiveAcross, Seabridge and Beyond.com’s Cybersource.
“Zellmer is very seasoned in building and marketing customer-centric SaaS software solutions,” says Jeremie Miller, co-founder and CTO of Singly. “As we begin to grow more rapidly and see increased use of our platform, we’ll continue to bring on the best talent in the app development and business community to support our customers as they build the latest and greatest apps.”
This announcement follows the recent launch of the Singly App Connection Platform and happens alongside Singly’s most recent release of its iOS SDK, which now also supports native Twitter authentication to augment its login, unified profiles, smart friend finding and social sharing product AppFabric. The company’s DataFabric product provides powerful syncing, intelligent indexing, deep data querying, archiving, instant push updates, normalization and more.
