Increased Demand for AAIMCheck Services Suggests Strong Business Trend in Hiring Practices

While we’ve seen employment growth stagnant and flat, we see that employers are taking advantage of inexpensive services that provide assurance about the hires they are making.

AAIM Employers Association, a leading regional provider of employer-related business solutions, reported a 166 percent usage increase in AAIMCheck services for background checks and drug tests over the last three years. AAIMCheck efficiently manages the process for delivering pre-employment screening products for employers. Figures available from 2010 through 2012 show an increase in the number of background checks from 8,313 in 2010 to 19,215 in 2012. AAIM also reported growth of employer sanctioned drug tests which increased from 502 in 2010 to 4,236 in 2012.

“We noticed this strong business trend when we compared the numbers behind this unprecedented growth for us in this area. Our pre-employment services web site has been a very busy web-based product for us,” said Philip Brandt, CEO and President of AAIM Employers’ Group. “While we’ve seen employment growth stagnant and flat, we see that employers are taking advantage of inexpensive services that provide assurance about the hires they are making.”

“An Aberdeen Group study found that organizations utilizing background checks show a 60 percent improvement in the quality of hires and experience much less turnover,” said Chris Cluney, Director of Pre-Hire Service for AAIM. “This ends up saving money on training and gives a company with strong continuity a distinct edge over competition that doesn’t use these services.”

With 1,600 employer members, AAIM’s costs of drug testing and background checks can be 20% below market rate. Employers who are members of AAIM receive bigger discounts and large employers benefit on savings by the volume of the services they purchase. In recent years, more than 800 of AAIM’s 1,600 employer members have used AAIMCheck.
