Nexus IS, Inc. (“Nexus”) today announced that it has rebranded its public sector practice to “Nexus Connected GovEd”. The name change more closely reflects the business unit’s prime mission: Connecting People, Process, and Technology to Improve Government and Education within the U.S. market. The Nexus public sector practice was initially launched in January of 2006 and has since grown to represent nearly 30% of total revenues for the advanced technology solution provider.

Nexus provides Connected Architectures for the K-12, Higher Ed, local and state government entities in order to improve safety and security, increase productivity, and lower costs. “At Nexus, our dedicated teams work with specific segments within the public sector market to understand their unique requirements and offer unique solutions leveraging our Connected Architecture Portfolio to address their strategic and tactical business requirements,” said Alan Engler, VP Sales, GovEd practice. “Nexus has been successful assisting educational institutions, cities, counties and state governments in improving their IT security, physical security, communications and interactions.”

Nexus participates in a variety of procurement programs including Western States Contracting Alliance (WSCA), Arizona state contract, Georgia state contract, Washington state contract, Texas DIR, Florida DIR, and GSA. Nexus also holds CMAS contracts in California with over a dozen specialized partners.
