The global market for light-emitting diodes (LEDs) is expected to grow 40% this year, according to the Chief Executive of Philips North America.
Greg Sebasky told Bloomberg that people are beginning to see lighting as a durable good and taking them with when they move.
LED driven lighting products could save the average homeowner about £165 a year in electricity costs.
A spokesperson for Lights 4 Living:
“LEDs are becoming increasing popular for home lighting and hold many benefits for the average home owner. Emitting brighter light and lasting for years at a time, they are the minimum of fuss and can make a substantial difference to electricity bills. They’re ideal for picture lighting, bathroom lighting and kitchen lighting but can be installed throughout the home without hassle.
“Many governments are aiming to encourage households to switch over to LEDs so it’s well worth looking in to them and making them part of your everyday lighting.”
