This investment gives us a fresh, purpose-built space, equipped with the very latest technology and tools to enable us to service all makes and models of cars

The new Halfords Autocentre garage on the Slough Trading Estate off Farnham Road has created six jobs and is the second to be opened by the national car repair, servicing and MOT provider in Slough – bringing its UK network to 274.

In addition to creating jobs in the town, Halfords Autocentres has made a six-figure investment in acquiring and equipping the centre – which is set to contribute a further £15,000 per month to region’s economy by purchasing other consumables from local suppliers.

Mark Turner, Regional Manager, Halfords Autocentres, commented: “With the opening of our second garage in Slough we have a increased our capacity to offer motorists access to a reputable brand that delivers main dealer quality at more affordable prices - something that is valued by customers in these tough economic times.”

As a business Halfords Autocentres brings clarity to the process of using garages by eliminating the jargon frequently spoken by mechanics to motorists – tackling the issue that nine out of ten car owners say they are left bewildered by the terminology used by garages.

Halfords Autocentres champion the use of ‘plain English’ and it’s Glossary of Garage Speak – an easy to understand guide of motoring industry terms – is available free of charge from the garage.

Mayor Christine Small commented: “With so much bad news about business closures it is encouraging to see that some businesses are able to expand. Halfords is well known in Slough and we are pleased that you have not just survived but grown in the area.”

Mark Turner continued: “This investment gives us a fresh, purpose-built space, equipped with the very latest technology and tools to enable us to service all makes and models of cars, old and new. It puts us in the very best position to meet the local demand from motorists looking for a better deal.”
