The prelude to the NCAA basketball tournament promises to be as unpredictable as March Madness.

The day many sports fans wait the entire year for is nearly upon us as March Madness 2013 is now just days from getting underway. Before the 68 teams take part in the “Big Dance,” conference tournament play across the country will take place. In honor of men’s hoops, Printablebrackets.net is now offering a full line of complimentary conference tournament brackets.

“The prelude to the NCAA basketball tournament promises to be as unpredictable as March Madness itself,” said Printable Brackets spokesman Zaniel Worth. “The regular season has featured as many upsets as most hoop fans can remember. Fortunately for fans of the underdog, it’s very likely that the trend will continue.”

Some conferences will begin tournament play as early as March 5th, but the perennial conference powers will tip off tournament action the following week. Here are the start dates of some of the notable conference tournaments:

ACC Basketball Tournament - Thursday, March 14th

Big 12 Basketball Tournament – Wednesday, March 13th

Big East Basketball Tournament – Tuesday, March 12th

Big Ten Basketball Tournament – Thursday, March 14th

Pac 12 Basketball Tournament – Wednesday, March 13th

SEC Basketball Tournament – Wednesday, March 13th

“While the ranked teams that will participate in the respective conference tournaments are all but assured a spot in the NCAA basketball tournament, seeding is still very much unclear,” said Worth. “Entering conference tournament play, all four number-one seeds are still up in the air. These teams all realize the time to make a case for a top seed is now.”

A total of 30 automatic bids to the NCAA Tournament will be handed out to the winners of all the conference tournaments. The seeds and tournament brackets for March Madness 2013 will be revealed on “Selection Sunday” on St. Patrick’s Day on March 17th.

The NCAA basketball tournament schedule will open up with the “First Four” on March 19th. The “Final Four” will meet at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta on April 6th. The national championship game is April 8th.
